Peace in the Middle East
There is much tension between Israel
and the Palestinians, as Prime Minister Barak and Yasser
Arafat failed to reach a peace agreement at Camp David.
Though it appears as though progress has been made in some
areas, the issue of Jerusalem's sovereignty remains an
unresolved dilemma.
Meanwhile, the Palestinians have claimed their intention
to unilaterally declare statehood on September l3th of
this year. Some believe that, should this occur, violence
would almost inevitably ensue.
Our work at the Alliance is to foster "soul
force," and bring it to bear on the problems of the
world. Let us place the relationship between Israel and
the Palestinians in a field of light. We pray that it be
blessed and healed by God. We place it in divine hands and
ask for divine correction.
Jerusalem is a powerful religious symbol in three of the
great religions of the world. For Jews, this is where God
created the universe; for Christians, it is where Jesus
walked to the cross; for Muslims, it is the spot from
which Mohammed ascended to Heaven. Members of each group
are tempted to feel, at times, that Jerusalem is
essentially theirs.
Ego-based religious thinking perceives separation of needs
in Jerusalem, while spiritual perception sees only unity.
Many in Israel feel that Jerusalem should remain under
full Israeli sovereignty forever; many Palestinians feel
it should be the capital of the new Palestinian state.
While enlightened groups on both sides work for
cooperation and sharing of the city, such voices are often
drowned out in the cacophony of conflicting agendas.
From a spiritual perspective, Jerusalem is holy ground
BECAUSE it belongs to God, and thus to no one faction or
group of people. Anything which belongs to God, belongs to
us all and unites us all. Humanity's reach for full
understanding of that concept is the reach for our
enlightenment. Our effort to attain true peace in
Jerusalem is emblematic of our effort to attain peace on
earth. The only piece of ground that is truly God's
ground, is common ground.
So how can we help?
Because all minds are joined, our capacity to reach beyond
the walls that divide us from someone in our own lives,
supports Palestinians and Israelis in reaching beyond the
walls that separate them from each other. We begin our
meditation this month by reaching for forgiveness in our
own hearts, seeking to forgive someone we have difficulty
at present forgiving. We surrender our unforgiveness to
God and ask to be released from it. We pray that the
spiritual power released thereby be as our gift to support
the process of healing in the Middle East.
Let us pray together, on Saturday, September 2, at 11p.m
in Moscow, 10p.m. in Athens, 8p.m. in London (GMT) and
Johannesburg, 3p.m. in New York, 12 p.m. in Los Angeles,
the same time all over the globe. After prayer, let us
continue to sit in mediation silence for twenty minutes,
summoning the power of God to heal the Middle East and to
heal us all.
Dear God,
we pray for healing in the Middle East
May Your hand
come upon all hearts there,
bringing peace to them and to all the world.

What Are You
Doing?
Today, this
moment, right now is the most important time you have.
Tomorrow is for the one who would not now do what can be
done. Tomorrow is for the one who is without interest.
Where there is interest, there is activity and
transformation. How beautifully Paul said this when he
declared, "Be not conformed to this world but be
transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may
prove the will of God, what is good and acceptable and
perfect." (Rom. 12:2)
Will you accept the challenge and the change and transform
yourself?
The earnest person is the one who is completely dediated
to the task at hand. There is simplicity in what we seek
to do when we dedicate ourself to the doing. At this
moment accept only what uplifts, but don't reject what you
do not understand. In a definite change of attitude,
embrace all things that are part of you. Then, release!
Release all and everything!
Become still and know. Know that order, divine order, is
the Higher Self expressing through an expanded conscious
awareness of you, your world, and your part in it. Make no
intense effort to determine the "how" or
"why."
Accept! Relax! Release! In this moment there can be an
enlightenment of you as an individual, and all else and
all others may emerge in the light of a new and brighter
dawn!

quantum physicist and believes effective government is one
that operates in harmony with the natural laws and

Charges West Nile Virus Sprayings are Bogus and
Potentially Deadly
Sandpoint, ID - Urban sprayings of malathion, a suspected
human chemical carcinogen and known immune system blocker,
as a means to control mosquito populations -efforts aimed
at stemming outbreaks of the West Nile Virus (WNV)-has not
been scientifically proven to be either safe or effective.
According to a group of concerned physicians and
scientists led by Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz, a Harvard
graduate and internationally known authority in public
health, the sprayings of Northeast U.S. populations
violates a basic tenant of public health practice
requiring known risk and proven benefits of the policy, in
this case aerosolizing a chemical compound linked to
cancer development and genetic damage in various species
throughout the food chain.
Even the alleged origin of the "West Nile
Virus," should be questioned, according to Dr.
Horowitz. Prior to calling it WNV, it was known as Eastern
Equine Encephalitis (EEE). However, U.S. Government
documents reprinted in his national best-seller, Emerging
Viruses: AIDS & Ebola-Nature, Accident or Intentional?
(Tetrahedron Publishing Group, 1998; 1-888-508-4787),
cite the name "Dawson's encephalitis," among a
group of viral agents being studied in the West Nile
district of Northwest Uganda by the Army's sixth leading
biological weapons contracting firm called Bionetics-a
medical subsidiary of the global military weapons
developer, Litton Industries.
"I can think of lots of examples [where] wiping [out]
one problem caused a worse one to pop up," complained
Henry A. Wallace of the Institute for Alternative
Agriculture regarding malathion sprayings. "I would
think people, by now, would know that heavy applications
of pesticide have not been the right way to go,² he wrote
on the internet. ³Spraying people with pesticide that do
not want to be sprayed must be morally wrong."
As the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) currently
oversees public health agencies including the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA), for threats to national security
posed by viral agents such as HIV/AIDS, Dr. Horowitz said,
"An investigation into the intelligence of spraying
American civilians with a documented chemical carcinogen
that, at minimum, wrecks havoc with our children's immune
systems, is urgently indicated."
