Philosopher
and author Christian de Quincey, Ph.D., is an international speaker on
consciousness, spirituality, and philosophy of mind at conferences and workshops
in the United States and Europe. He is a professor of Philosophy and
Consciousness Studies at John F. Kennedy University, where he teaches a variety
of courses on consciousness and the mind-body relation. He is also adjunct
faculty at the Union Institute & University, and the Arthur Young Professor of
Philosophy at the University of Philosophical Research. He also serves as
Managing Editor on IONS Review, a 35,000-membership magazine from the
Institute of Noetic Sciences.
Dr. de Quincey is the author of the
award-winning book Radical Nature: Rediscovering the Soul of Matter, a
best-selling e-book novel, Deep Spirit, exploring the evolution of
consciousness, and with Willis Harman, co-author of The Scientific
Exploration of Consciousness. His work on consciousness has appeared in both
popular and academic journals, including Journal of Consciousness Studies,
Journal of Transpersonal Psychology, Cerebrum, ReVision, Network, IONS Review,
Connections, Advances in Mind-Body Medicine, and Somatics. Before
moving into academia, he was a professional journalist for national newspapers
including The Irish Times, the London Sunday Times, and the
science journal Nature.
